Alright y’all, I am writing my first post to Manimals, finally! Now Sal and Nayyar can sleep soundly and shut their blogging mouths

Let’s talk music. Because A LOT is going on in the music world right now. There’s some really good stuff, some respectable stuff and then we have a plethora of uninspired garbage. Yes, taste in music is completely subjective, but I feel that lots of music is not given a fair chance because the media skews our judgement. If mainsteam radio played death metal everyday, don’t you think that you would like it? It’s because it’s what we know; it’s what we’re taught to know. So I’ve decided that my purpose here is to serve a the music guru for Manimals and teach people to dig deep. Dig into the music scene because there is a lot of great music to be discovered that the media deems unacceptable for the mainstream, and death metal is a prime example. It receives a negative stigma by, well…everyone! I am a very eclectic music lover and I love death metal just as much as I love classical music. As far as I am concerned it’s all art. Argue all you want, but it’s a fact. One group that has taken death metal to a new level and really opened the genre up to people that would have maybe not liked it in the first (myself included) is Opeth.
